What a beef buyer in China needs
A Chinese importer buys beef on approval, specification and consistency. Approval: the supplier must be on the PRC list for beef; without it the container does not clear. Specification: cut, trim and packing must match the buyer’s channel, whether that is food service, retail or further processing. Consistency: the lot must match the sheet. Teijsen sources beef from approved suppliers in North and South America and confirms every lot before it ships.
How we source
- Approved suppliers. Only plants with PRC approval for beef, mainly in North and South America. Several also supply the beef casings in our casings range.
- Per-lot specification. Trim, weight range and packing are set with the plant and confirmed per lot. The beef range runs on request, so we do not quote from a stock list.
- Documentation. Supplier approval and shipment documents accompany every container.
- Import into China through our own company, with delivery to the final buyer. See the production page for how both sites work.
The chain runs under IFS Food Higher Level, 96.18 % in the 2026 audit.
