In short

Teijsen is a Dutch exporter of natural casings and meat by-products, founded in 1928 and run by the fourth generation of the family since 2023.

The range falls into three groups. Natural casings are the core: hog, sheep and beef casings, selected in our own facility in Hunan to a 2/4 mm or 2 mm tolerance, in XXL ends up to 14 metres and more.

Meat by-products are pork, beef and other species from PRC-approved slaughterhouses, mainly of European and American origin, imported into China through our own company there. Pet treats are dried beef by-products such as pizzles, ears and tracheas: pure beef, made from items that would otherwise go to rendering.

All three groups are handled from Zeewolde, the Netherlands, under IFS Food Higher Level, 96.18 % in the 2026 audit. We ship over 200 full containers a month to more than 50 countries.

Our range

Three groups, one standard.

01

Natural casings

Hog, sheep and beef casings for every sausage line. Strict calibre selection, long-end XXL material, salted bundles or soft tubes.

02

Meat products

Pork, beef and other meat by-products from PRC-approved slaughterhouses, imported into China through our own company.

03

Pet treats

Pure beef treats from by-products that would otherwise be rendered: pizzles, ears, bullies, tracheas, gullets and more.

The core

Casings first, since 1928.

Karel Johan Teijsen started preparing casings at an Amsterdam slaughterhouse in 1928. Four generations later the craft is the same and the scale is not: our own selection facility in Hunan, a warehouse in Zeewolde and exports to more than 50 countries. Start with the natural casings range or read what natural casings are.

By-products with a destination

Nothing of value goes to rendering.

The same supply chain that gives us casings gives us pork and beef by-products with a market in China, and beef items that make honest pet treats. Both groups are sourced from PRC-approved plants and handled under the same IFS Food system as our casings. See the meat products and pet treats pages for the current ranges.

What you can source from Teijsen

Teijsen sources, produces, selects and exports natural casings and meat by-products. The three product groups serve different buyers but share one supply chain: slaughter plants that are inspected and approved for human consumption, hand selection, a final check in Zeewolde and shipment in full container loads. Natural casings are the heart of the company and the reason it exists since 1928. Meat by-products use the same plant network to serve the Chinese market. Pet treats turn beef by-products into a product with value instead of a rendering cost.

How we work, whatever the product

  1. Approved plants only. Casings come from plants approved for human consumption; meat by-products and pet treats from PRC-approved slaughterhouses.
  2. Selection in our own hands. Hog and sheep casings are graded in our facility in Shaoshan, Hunan, built in 2020. Read how on the production page.
  3. Final check in Zeewolde under IFS Food Higher Level, 96.18 % in the 2026 audit. The quality page explains the audit and traceability per lot.
  4. Full container loads to more than 50 countries, over 200 a month.

Where to start

Sausage producers start at natural casings, then pick hog, sheep or beef and the calibre from the calibre guide. Importers and traders in China start at meat products. Pet food manufacturers and distributors start at pet treats. Whichever group you need, a sample or current specification is one form away: request a sample and our sales team follows up.
