In short

A sample from Teijsen is a real lot in miniature: natural hog, sheep or beef casings selected to the calibre, length and make-up you specify, taken from the same selection you would buy.

Specify the species, the calibre range, the length (standard or XXL long-end), the make-up (salted bundles, soft tubes or easy fill) and the sausage you make. We prepare the sample in Zeewolde and ship it within days, with the lot data and the datasheet.

After the first run, your Teijsen sales contact calls to go through the result: filling behaviour, calibre consistency, yield. If the selection needs adjusting, we adjust it before the first commercial order. The form below takes two minutes. Prefer to write? Mail sales@teijsen.com with the same details.

Samples are available for all three species and for every make-up we produce; special selections are produced on request.

How it works

From specification to sample.

  1. 01

    Specify

Fill in species, calibre, length, make-up and your sausage type. Add the volume you expect and your destination so we can select from the right lot.

  2. 02

    Ship

We prepare the sample in Zeewolde from the current selection and ship it within days, with lot data and the product datasheet.

  3. 03

    Follow-up

Your sales contact calls after the first run. We discuss filling behaviour, calibre and yield and fine-tune the specification before your first order.

What to send us

The more precise your request, the closer the sample is to your final order. Species and calibre range are the minimum. Length (standard or XXL), make-up and your sausage type let us pick the right lot: a bratwurst line in 28/30 hog on soft tubes needs different material from a salami in beef middles. The calibre guide helps if you are choosing between calibres, and hog, sheep or beef if you are choosing between species.

What you receive

A labelled sample from the current selection, the lot data and the datasheet for that species. Store it as you would a commercial lot; see storing natural casings. Then run it and tell us what you saw.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Specifications are confirmed per lot. Ask for the current datasheet.

What should I specify in a sample request?

Species (hog, sheep or beef), calibre range, length (standard or XXL), make-up (salted bundles, soft tubes or easy fill) and the sausage type you produce. If you are unsure about the calibre, the calibre guide in the knowledge base helps.

How long does a sample take?

Samples ship from Zeewolde within days of the request. Transit time depends on your location; we send the tracking details with the shipment.

Is the sample representative of a commercial lot?

Yes. Samples are taken from the same selection you would order, with the same calibre tolerance and make-up. The lot data travels with the sample.

What happens after I receive the sample?

Your sales contact calls after your first run to discuss the result. If calibre, length or make-up need adjusting, we adjust the specification before the first commercial order.
